The Pie Den tells the story of Dennis ‘Den’ Newman as he prepares for his first pie & mash sale at the Blue Market in Bermondsey. The film explores the deep-rooted obsession many Londoners have with this iconic dish, celebrating its community significance and reminding us that it’s never too late to pursue your ambitions.

I met Den while assisting on a TV series - he was our caterer and won everyone over with the incredible pies he made. When I learned he was starting his own business, I knew there was a story worth telling.

Within a day, we launched a GoFundMe, hit our goal thanks to the amazing support of friends and crew, and made the film a reality.
The Pie Den marks the moment that both myself & Den took a big leap, leaving large-scale productions behind, to follow our passions. It exceeded online expectations and won the audience choice award at The Shiny Awards Showcase at Saatchi & Saatchi. The film is currently making its way around the festival circuit.

Fun fact: the Millwall Stadium (next door to the market) is nicknamed the 'Den'... decent play on words right?
